SMC: Return to Work Preparedness Process

In the next few months, as the country stabilizes from the COVID-19 virus and the stay at home mandate is lifted, businesses and organizations will begin to migrate their employees back into the workforce. SMC is currently assisting our customers as they take on this new way of conducting business in the future. This process will be unique but different as organizations will have different needs and expectations.

Our industry has now become a true necessity as employees want to return to a safe workplace. Employees will remember how their companies responded during this crucial period. Developing plans to mitigate employees concerns and fears should be top priority.

As our customers navigate through this process, many of them have reached out to us for our direction in these unforeseen times.

SMC will work very closely with our supply base to ensure and monitor the availability of the following if our customers need these items as well.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)  Gloves and Mask
  • Cleaning Supplies
    • Sanitizers
    • Disinfectants

In addition, other personal protective equipment (PPE) might be required based on the cleaning/disinfectant products being used and whether there is a risk of splash.  In order to protect your employees, during this time, we have added a new high-touch disinfecting procedure where we use EPA disinfectant cleaning agents on frequently touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, door frames, counter tops, desks, chairs, handrails, appliance control panels, sinks, etc…..

Coronavirus  (COVID-19) is creating new challenges to companies as they develop strategies to support their workforce. SMC has been on the front lines of the COVID-19 response since its inception. We have pandemic plans in place and we are working around the clock to ensure that our management staff have the necessary processes in place to ensure the safety of our team members and customers to decrease the risk of transmission.

  • Safety of our team members and customers
  • Constant communication with our customers help to reduce the spread and limit your risk.
  • Preventive measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • SMC Virus Decontamination Program that follows CDC and OHSA guidelines for cleaning facilities

Taking care of our customers is what drives our business. Whether you have a COVID-19 case or not, SMC can allocate resources that are directed at protecting your employees.
